Space Odyssey

今天研究室打扫卫生，从早晨一直干到下午5点。然后老板请大家吃Pizza。晚上心情比较沮丧，一直在想一个牧师说过的话:

给我一颗平静的心
接受我不得不接受的
给我一颗勇敢的心
改变我可以改变的
给我足够的勇气
分辨这两者

谈何容易？
老板要编一本小册子，记录他来德大六年来的历程。吩咐每个人写一篇Essay，今晚就要mail给他。打了个草稿，一方面应付老板，另一方面也给自己一个交代。如发现错误，欢迎指正。

My name is Han Hongwei.I came from China.I was born in 1976 in a small village in Shandong Province, where Kongzi, China’s first educationist also lived over 2000 years ago.After getting my Master’s degree from Jilin University,I came to Tokushima in autumn,2002 and entered PhD programe the following spring.

I am very interested in life science research,particularly infectious and autoimmune disease.Working under Professor Matsumoto’s guidance, I not only enjoy the lab experimentation thoroughly but also learn to think and solve problems. I believe that this discipline is important in both the basis and the crux of medical research.

During my staying in the lab,I participate in the work to examine the mechanisms underlying the breakdown of self-tolerance and the pathological condition of autoimmune disease.It’s my pleasure to be involved in those projects and publish several nice papers. I know science isn’t any kind of guaranteed occupation.I am here because I enjoy doing science work and hope to find some exciting discoveries.I have strong confidence to publish more papers in top journals in the near future.

I have been here for over two years.I never feel isolated and helpless.The longer I live in Japan, the more I learn.  I’m so grateful for the friends who have given me help during both my life and work.I like japanese food such as sushi and sashimi.Sakura (cherry blossom) is so amazing in my eyes.When the Sakura trees are in full bloom, Japan seems to be a peaceful, calm country where many people get together and eat picnics on the grass. It’s a really hopeful and perfect moment. Japanese temples and shrines are splended.I like Japanese literature,art,culture and style.Kawabata Yasunari,Akira Kurosawa,Yasujiro Ozu and Ryuichi Sakamoto are all well respected in the world for their achievements in art fields.

My favorite hobby is hiking, which has brought me closer to both nature and my true self. Standing on the top of the mountains, I have often enjoyed the benefit of a broadened vision on the one hand and a heightened sense of conquest on the other hand. I also like poetry, sports,photography,listenting to music,and many others.

I will continue to build a solid foundation for my career.I have determined to make myself an excellent researcher and improve myself to a higher level.
