黑泽明论电影
黑泽明说: “如果你想描绘人间的苦难，那就如实地去展现它；但如果夸大其词，观众就不买账。即使是一部悲剧，也应该有光明的一面，这样观众就会有情感上的满足感，这才是电影人应该做的。电影应该超越现实。
现在有一种趋势: 有些电影人总想表现事物丑陋的一面以及让人不快的一面，就算这是事实，这样做也是不对的。你真想这样做，还不如在荧幕上去杀死一匹马。”
志村乔在谈到黑泽明的电影时说: “黑泽明电影一贯的专题是人道主义(humanism)，这是他所有作品的基础。”
